If you get disconnected right after you enter your name, please wait before trying to reconnect after the crash. If you get disconnected right after you enter your password, please wait a few minutes before trying to reconnect after the crash. Assuming you can get by without a few minutes of precious mudding time, you now have a short break to eat, shower, write poetry, teach your feret to yodel, etc. By waiting a few minutes, you give the Imms a chance to catch what's wrong and, if there is something wrong with your character file, a temporary "fix" to the crashes. One option would be to quickly roll a lvl 1 and see if there are any messages about the problem. Another would be to log onto irc, where an imm might show and enlighten you as to the problem. And don't listen to anyone spouting about "idiots that keep logging in their corrupted chars". 9 times out of ten, it's not an idiot, but rather an uninformed player.
