I wouldn't say it's Sylvan's war to maintain. For one, as you said, transform can be used to destroy nature... not something
a Warder is going to like much... for another, while not all Masters are too aggressive on Sylvan, quite a few are... it's far
from a one-sided war that Sylvan is dragging on. It may seem like alot more Sylvans are aggressive in it, but some at least have
only gotten to attack the Masters much after seeing how much the Masters attack the Sylvans... I'm a Warder, and don't really like
fighting the Masters, but they keep attacking the Grove... it's only very recently that I've attacked the Tower when I wasn't just
trying to get the sapling back.

Sylvan is a much smaller cabal than Masters, and in my humble opinion are mostly trying to just fight back for all the attacks made
on the Grove, and on nature in general, due to transform, and the "perversions of nature" in Masters, such as necromancers. Some
Warders get more aggressive than others, but isn't that the way in all cabals?

So please, don't paint Masters as innocent. I wouldn't say all Warders are innocent, but nor are Masters.
