I have seen quite a few Lichs in my day. They ALL are tough to kill, but very few of them are anywhere near impossible. I don't know if you have ever went through a Lich quest, but I say... If you were good enough to get all of your items and then hero afterwards...more power to you! Not to mention once you Lich you only have 1 death a con-point. I think instead of bitching about how hard they are you should look at the excitement and rp that this hideous creature brings to the game.
