In Reply to: Roleplay is more than having a role in your character, its about interacting with people, if you were really the character, i think asking people who great warlords were and where their castles were would come up (n/t) posted by Arolin on August 03, 1999 at 20:55:38:
What you say is true about the role your character plays. But asking newbies where a particular cabal is or ask him to come to a cabal isn't fair. Yes asking who's the leader will get you answers. But asking where his/her cabal is won't get you anywhere. I, for sure, won't disclose my cabal whereabouts. I like what Justin did - he didn't hold it against anyone but guided them. You flout the laws in a cabal and you might not get a second chance. That's how one learns. But not even before he joins the cabal. But I'm talking about interview here. You can't ask a newbie to tell you where and such and such. He simply doesn't know. I have had people asking me where a cabal is and being in one, I tell them to send an scroll. And ask for an interview when he sees the leader around. I would also disclose the different leaders so as to facilitate. But never where to find the cabal. So my point is this : ask about his purpose of joining, his views and such. Guide him if he's wrong. You'll never know if you have made a leader in the future. Jacky's busy.
