There are a lot of things in the game that delay your opponent's next command (including, but not limited to, flee). However, there are relatively few things in the game that have the potential to allow a single player even a chance to completely deny their opponent the ability to do commands indefinitely. Bash is one example. All of these that I can think of have (for some classes, at least) ways to be completely immune to them. Protective shield is an example of this.
