It sounded like a cough to me, and vaguely lizardlike. At the time I was generally disgusted that every elf player was the touchy-feely happy go lucky type elf and I thought it was about time someone played an elf differently. That and the fact that I wanted to play a good aligned character that didn't forget his alignment once he joined the Tower, which of course brought alot of tension later on when I refused to help some evils do evil things. (And was later vindicated by a note from Twist. It's always nice when your mortal gets imm validation in the face of pretty much the entire rest of the cabal going the wrong way) But no, to answer the question, I didn't steal it from Terry Goodkind. That's not to say I haven't taken names from books before. I have, often. Mhorham, Balsamon, Aileron, Bannor and Elena were all from books I'd read and enjoyed, although all I took were names, I didn't import any of the characteristics of the characters as written.
