Oblanaider was I think rank 43 a human ranger rager (scout). He had max con, spare trains etc, a so so pk record (but he came out on top of sooooo many fights were the others just got away). Well I always had more fun playing classes that could hide and after playing Magtograme I really needed to try another rager that could. Ive never played a ranger seriously since bears were removed and I must say the changes are a massive improvement. I deleted cos I dont have time to play anywhere near as much as I had before, and I found this character harder to get into - and at some points he was acting too much like Magtograme which I didnt like. Theres also too few forest areas for someone of good align to rank in and it was compounded by the lack of people I could group with being a rager. I was ranking by myself for a while, leading trollocs, footmen and myrdraal into the forests to slay them - but you can only kill so many of them before repitition drives you bonkers and you cant hack it anymore (that and you get ratshit exp trying to be a loner). (not well hidden request for more forest areas) To all the ragers, Kaejof who I ranked and hunted with a bit, Barsimmon, Erauj (correct name?) the battle assassin I had to fight in the rites, the countless others I cant remember (cos I havent played in far too long). Well played the lot of you. The IMM - I think Thror that talked to me as Whilemstift once in a while - that was great stuff.. that helped evolve the charcter quite considerably. Id like to think I made a menace out of myself at the early ranks and there was at least one conjie who I must have annoyed immensly having killed his familiar I think three times. just one other thing I thought Id mention.. scouts skills are useful, but only in fairly limited places eg critical hit really ought to do more damage imho. and there you have it... expect to see some logs on the board when I get time to clean them up a little. see ya in the fields
spell evasion is great (why I picked scout) but didnt work very often at all for me and isnt something you can practice easily. I regretted not being a berserker because deathblow simply makes that big a difference, bigger damage than critical hit (unless the enemy is really well protected) and its automated.
