Yes...but only if they were sooo exceptionally good that thier character was real enough that I was worried about the person playing it. So I suppose the true answer is probably not...of course that's just my opinion (and as we all know..I'm pretty opinionated on tattoos). I look at the role for 1 of 2 things...
1) it's a way for the person to outline thier character and give reasons for things they do, both mundane and extroidanary. It also gives the immstaff a sort of self-defining slide rule for the character.
2) whether short and sweet, or a novel...if it's well thought out, it shows us that the character has had some thought put into it (if you're actually playing the role you typed in...there are a few people who type thier role and then forget about it) and are interested in making an interesting and well defined character.
One last thing I'd like to say on the subject, your role doesn't have to be static. Your role can change over the 'years'...as long as it's gradual, and believable...and you'll probably create a more interesting character (and believable) than one that stays dead on thier first defined goal (however if you do start drifting, make sure you put the drifting and why in your role...otherwise it'll look like you're not keeping your role in hand). The real life example I'll use for this is how many people are doing what they wanted to do when they were 5?
