> I think spelling and grammar are very important in a text-based game, because if you spell incorrectly or disregard the rules of grammar your meaning will be difficult if not impossible to discern. We don't have body language or voice inflection on the mud to help you get your point across. > For me, text that has a lot of errors - several errors every sentence - is simply difficult to read, hard to understand, and generally makes me feel like I might be wasting my time. We all make mistakes and typos, and sometimes the typos can be funny. If a person consistently makes a lot of mistakes, and especially if they make different mistakes every time, other players simply aren't going to understand everything they're trying to say. It's much harder to interact with someone when you're not sure what they're saying. > I didn't know Randarab. From the little bit he posted, it sounds like (remember, I don't know what actually happened) he gave up on the tattoo early on. His further prayers were all demanding/asking that Nepenthe do something for someone. If I were trying to get interaction with an immortal, I would continue to visit their shrine, pray to them, keep them up to date on what I'm doing, whether or not I needed something from them. I would be surprised to get a response from just four visits.
