He roleplays. And he does it quite well. I'm not going to condemn the sylvans (lazy gear hoarding bastards), but they do kill now and then roleplay from the confines of their chamouflage. Granted, there are a few exceptions, especially Flontinot. But the rest...? Please, they're in it for the gear that comes from the kills which they use to kill more and thus get more gear.
