as for sleep - no I definetly dont think it should be taken away from necros - just decrease the amount of time you can be slept for - since plague is cumulative its quite possible for necros at higher ranks to fully maledict 2 to 3 people after hes slept them and have plenty of time left over (as Oblanaider I ended up with i think 3 strength and another rager was killed when we both got slept - I lived by hiding into the village and getting away with I think 15mv)
at earlier ranks necro sleeps, plagues. dosent need to attack as often thats enough to kill alot of characters if they cant get to a healer.
