You say 'It has long been my thought that an arbiter should be far more than a simple protector. Indeed, sometimes an arbiter may even forget that much of his or her duty, but such is the way of us simple mortals.'

You say 'I'd like to see...'

You say 'hmm'

You say 'A more humble Hall. As it is many of us have our egos stroked by the power we have. We're not rulers of the city, but servants of it.'

You say 'It's really quite simple. If people begin to see us as less than tyrants, the laws will be more likely embraced, and justice with it.'

An Immortal chuckles politely.

An Immortal says 'I'm not certain you'd like to tell the Lord Astein to..become more humble.'

You chuckle politely.

You say 'Indeed, I suppose you're probably correct. The law is blind though, there's a place for every ideology.'

An Immortal says 'The Hall, it is unique compared to many other such places.'

An Immortal nods.

An Immortal says 'There are many views, hence, the capacity for many Leaders of the Hall.'

An Immortal turns her eyes towards the plaque.

You say 'Something that seems to be lacking at this time.'

An Immortal says 'No single lord rules this place.'

An Immortal says 'But one of each force, be they good or ...darker.'

You say 'Indeed, such is only proper.'

An Immortal nods.

You say 'We deal with a complex lot of people.'

An Immortal says 'Do you feel, those such as Calyldor or Lord Astein believe the Hall is about protection?'

You say 'To force one view on the masses wouldn't be just, and if anything, I seek to be a just man.'

You say 'Probably not. Those that worship at obsidian altars are probably more intrigued and attracted by the power walking these Halls allows.'

An Immortal nods.

An Immortal says 'There is a place, for all such, within our Hall, if we remember one thing.'

You nod.

An Immortal says 'Would you like a guess as to that thing?'

You say 'My guess would be that the Law is above all, regardless of morality, and under the law we all can stand united.'

An Immortal nods.

An Immortal says 'That is what to remember, the thing which we all share, here.'

[ARBITER] Polemachus: 'preciate it

An Immortal says 'I applaud your desires, and they reverberate within me, but the Law is what we have and carry out above anything else.'

You say 'I understand entirely, though it can be difficult and daunting thing to accept, that justice does not have a place within the hearts of all.'

An Immortal says 'Is the task too great?'

You say 'Not by any means, it's just sometimes necessary to step back and take a breath. Reevaluate and hope that someday it might creep its way in somewhere.'

An Immortal says 'How do you feel, about those we spoke of before--those of the obsidian altar as you put it?'

You say 'How do I feel? It's certainly a desirable thing that all types embrace the law and adhere to it, enforce it and hopefully in most cases protect the dignity of it.'

An Immortal says 'You feel you are able to work equally beside them, despite their..differing views?'

You say 'I would hope that they embrace justice as well, but it's certainly not my place to force my ideals on them. As long as they're doing the job, I've no problems.'

An Immortal nods.

You say 'I have thus far. It's become apparent that my angels have a different view.'

You grumble distractedly to yourself.

An Immortal chuckles politely.

An Immortal says 'Something which...you have learned from I hope?'

You say 'Haven't had an angel within the city since.'

An Immortal nods.

An Immortal says 'Look upon the plaque, here.'

You say 'Wary of elementals as well, but sometimes it's impractical.'

You nod.

Polemachus gazes at the plaque.

An Immortal says 'What are the elders, and Lords, to you?'

You say 'With only Kryn and Grallon as examples, I'd have to say that they are those that have exhibited a special dedication to guidance and to the Hall. They hope to lead it and enhance it.'

An Immortal shakes its head.

An Immortal says 'I wish you to read the plaque, speak from it.'

You say 'ahhh'

You say 'According to the plaque, Lords and Elders are examples of dedication and devotion to the law and their presence is often felt. They lead by example, displaying impeccable behavior, serving and upholding the law to the best of their ability.'

An Immortal says 'Which means what, to you?'

You say 'They see that only fit arbiters walk the Hall, and welcome those that show possibility into it.'

You ponder the question.

You say 'I suppose that means that elders and lords are the most fit amongst us, capable of making the best decisions and displaying behavior consistent with the ideals of the Hall and with the spirit and word of the Law.'

You say 'It's a position of responsibility, through word and through action we are judged.'

An Immortal says 'To each of their own interpretation. During many periods a lord of Dark and Light have existed at the same time, clearly with different thoughts.'

An Immortal says 'Upon some things, clearly they'd disagree, but the Law is their constant.'

You nod.

An Immortal says 'Three Lords come together, three mindsets, three lives all working towards the Hall's best.'

An Immortal says 'Such is the Goal of the Leadership, three Lords which will guide all--from their consensus.'

An Immortal says 'But, what positions are filled currently?'

You say 'Elder and Lord, I believe only those belonging to those who worship at the moon Temple'

An Immortal nods.

An Immortal says 'This is so.'

An Immortal says 'Both hold the role of ensuring new and fit come within our ranks.'

An Immortal says 'What does that entail, do you believe?'

You say 'Commitment, if anything. You have to be committed to bettering the Hall in order to conduct the necessary interviews. You also need a firm understanding of the Law and the ideals of the Hall.'

An Immortal nods.

An Immortal says 'What does a proper interview contain?'

You say 'If mine can be used as an example, I would say it contains questions regarding the intent and reasoning behind seeking the Hall, scenarios involving decisions often made as an arbiter, and beyond that, an assurance of commitment and devotion.'

An Immortal nods.

<548hp 1089m 531mv> You say 'I believe that hits the high points of what I remember mine to be like.'

An Immortal says 'Do you feel you could adminster such a test?'

You say 'I would like to think so. I've often hoped to actually. '

You say 'I enjoy conversing.'

You say 'and the opportunities therein'

An Immortal says 'And what of hearing the complaints brought upon others of the Hall?'

An Immortal says 'Could you deal with such as those as well?'

You chuckle politely.

You say 'I'm sure they are numerous, but I can be understanding if needbe. In short, yes, I can handle heated complaints.'

An Immortal says 'The tasks of Lords and elders differ from others of the Hall.'

An Immortal says 'They must recall duties to complaints and interviews, allowing others to Hunt often.'

An Immortal says 'Sacrifices must be made for the long term good of our Hall.'

You say 'The abilities taught me allow me to aid in the hunt without moving a step.'

An Immortal says 'Arbiter Polemachus, shall you accept the tasks as my Lord of the Light?'

You say 'I would be delighted and accept with vigor.'

Your body feels invigorated with a newfound energy.

An Immortal says 'Very well.'

You humbly kneel down.
