What exactly do you resent about these goodbye posts? (txt):

Hey, you forgot to personally thank me warmly! And also [insert remaining roster of Dawn here]. We all loved you a whole lot!

I can't speak for everyone else, but I seriously doubt any of them seriously resent being left of out of someone's thanks-you's. If I were to say something like this it would purely mock anger, intended to display affection.

Noooo! How dare you [insert cause of death]! That is [insert current number] this month! Woe is us! There is no one left! All my friends are leaving! What will I ever do? How can I go on any further as a Servant? Please, please, please make another character exactly identical to this one, so that I can miss you less!

This has several interesting nuggets of resentment:

1) Servants' laments that so many have deleted/died lately.

2) The fact that someone might actually "befriend" another character to the point that they would legitimately be missed (by the player) after that character's death/deletion.

3) The claim that deleted/dead Servants are just re-rolling identical characters.

My responses to these:

1) It's true - a ton of old-timers have deleted/died lately. Solian, Shadisdros, Kelron, Arikel, Tecuea, Lyseria, Frayndra, Graffilon, Kamaan, Kailen, Chaldaie, Geindal, Gralifen, Iracundur, Johannus. That is since 10/15.

2) This doesn't bother me at all. CF can be a pretty dry place when everyone you know and hang out with just up and disappears.

3) Since I'm not an Imm, I can't really verify this one way or another. Even if true, the same might also be said about some of the other Cabals. People generally tend to have a favorite.

We had nearly finished our game of hopscotch in Tar Valon! And the quest to think of what flavor of ice cream we could be, if we could be any flavor at all! I still remember playing that game of tag where we could go -anywhere- in the Lyceum! I thought I'd never find you! And that time we got married, and then we got married to the other people, and then you eloped with a fire giant, and I found out he was my sister, and then you turned neutral, then evil, then right back to good after a brief stay with no alignment at all, but we all hugged at the end! All is woe now that you have passed on!

Again, not sure what you're bitching about here. Don't like people remembering experiences from the past? Or, just don't think the experiences they reminisce about are "worthwhile"?

I will get one of our bards to write an interminable note, and send it to all with a starry border!

This, I'll admit, is pretty darn annoying. But the only bard I remember doing this was Chayan, and he did most of his scribing after being kicked out.

Now who will be the next Apostle? I will go and dutifully place eighty-four posts on the forum, cleverly disguised as if I was many different people so that we can induct more people faster!

Yes, this was idiotic. It was also a *single* Dawn member, and hopefully not indicative of other members, or the CF player base (or humanity) as a whole.

Please please email, ICQ, and IRC me so we can be together forever! I have attached all of that information below, along with a FAX number, two forms of ID, and a lock of my hair. Don't go! Please? Play Dawnies forever?

I guess this is in reference to people keeping in touch OOC. I guess this would be annoying, but only if their OOC knowledge influenced their decisions IC with whatever new characters they roll up. If it doesn't, then what's the problem?
