Stunning special-effects-enhanced martial arts scenes(*), an epic plot revolving around a legendary sword, and *gasp* good enough roleplaying to make a dent at the Oscars next year.

Omit this film again, and I will sweep the leg (***).

(*) Think Channel 9 Sunday afternoon Kung Fu theater(**), only done by the people who did The Matrix.

(**) Yeah. Like I'm the only one who watched that religiously. WWOR, baby. Sometimes, they'd even run some serious Godzilla action right after. -Extra- tinfoil on the basement TV antenna for that.

(***) Bonus points if you could not suppress the urge to say "But Sensei, I can take him!" (****)
