Re-read his original question. Then come back here.

*whistles* *twiddles thumbs*

Good. By now you've realized that he asked for descriptions of the races. As in: What do Duergar look like?

If he goes to whatever author you are talking about, he will get a description of how duergar or whatever look --- in that author's milieu, not Thera. CF's duergar might look different. Now, if the original poster were to follow your advice, his duergar might look different than all the other duergar in Thera.

This is bad, yes?

This is why I suggested he go poke around appropriate areas in Thera. Someone else added the good point that the official web page has pictures and descriptions. Throw in helpfiles, and the room in the Academy with all the Lords, and he's well on his way.

Your answer was for: "How can I liven up a description?" Perhaps in imaginary-Grallon-world, the poster asked that. Here, he didn't, so I clarified, so the original asker wasn't led astray. Got it?

> I never said to plaigerize the man. I never said to use the parts of the descriptions that would not fit in with the CF realm...I said this....

> > > This author is often criticized for over descibing the physical characteristics of a scene....but he does so in such a colorful language that I found it to be actually uplifting from the everyday popcorn you usually get.

> Meaning he was a very good example of how to write a very good physical description without the standard "A sneaky/strong/big/ugly guy stands here making you scared...he looks like he has been in many fights...he has scars/wears dark clothes"

> I put Guy forward as an example of how a desc should be done...not as a cut and paste possibility.

> Testy this week proud blade? looking for things to argue with me about? I could ablige you so easily...but alas, this time Your agument has nothing to do with what I said.
