Being completely illiterate would be hard to pull off. You would be somewhat like the Rat-Man.

What might be more fun, and definitely more challenging, is if you were on a 2nd grade writing/speaking level. You could pick a lot of common phrases and 'blink' everytime you hear them, because you don't understand them.. or something. Just remember to use SIMPLE words. Someone like you wouldn't say something like, 'Pardon me, would you care to travel for much learning with and I?' You'd say, 'Come. Me, , you. We go.'

As an example... I once had a character that absolutely refused to 'TELL' to people. Thought it to be rather impersonal and whatever. Anytime someone would TELL him 'wanna group' he would have to find them in the land to reply, or to seek out his own groups. If he couldn't find them, oh well. I tell ya, it was a challenge to roleplay because a lot of people get frustrated if you don't reply within a minute or two.

One time, 'An Immortal' sent a message to me. Told me of the 'dire consequences if I didn't reply' and how it was 'known that I didn't reply to tells but that I had better reply to his.'

Needless to say, I took a ballsy chance that it might be a test. I didn't reply. Got a tattoo. :-)

Whatever you do, expand your horizons.. but not so much that you can't handle your role. Good luck man.
