I can't think of a use for 'detect magic'. There was a use awhile back when the pitch black rings from the men at arms used to have the magic flag on them. Now I see no reason to practice it.
Ventriloquate can be amusing at times, but otherwise useless.
I practice shield cleave though I have never used it against a pk, everyone dual wields or holds an object. Basically I just practice it in case I run into someone with a boiled leather shield.

> For curiosity's sake. I tend to practice everything, unless I'm playing a character that desperately needs extra training slots. I usually find that almost all skills are useful in certain scenarios.

> When answering, try to avoid the obvious answers. We all know pen is primarily for RP. Ragers shouldn't practice ranger spells, or staff/scroll for bards. Duergar thieves can skip detect hidden. Etc.
