Practicing is the worst part of invoking, but if you can get past that you'll have a blast. When I was learning my spells I usually read a book or watched TV, which leads to my first hint: Always pay attention while spamming your spells if you aren't somewhere 100% safe. I've died at least five times from just not paying attention while practicing. I wasn't using bots either, just was too busy watching the Simpsons or talking on the phone while all the queued spells went through.
Second hint: When using your combat spells pay very close attention to how many rounds each one lags you. The longer duration ones try to hold off practicing until you're levelling with a understanding group. It'll save you alot of grief.
Bonus hint: Your 'touches', the melee spells you learn at level 1, are so much better than any unlimited weapon it's sickening. Once you learn your weapon skills stick to your touches unless you get a superbullshit unique weapon or something, you'll be glad you did.
