> My first hero. My first attempt at playing a Scarab. The first character I have been truly happy with.
>
> I did not delete Ingvar out of frustration, disgust, or boredom. I deleted Ingvar because after 500 hours, I felt that it was time to try something new. I didn't want to keep Ingvar around if I was not going to be actively interviewing/defending/evangelizing actively, and my hours were starting to become scarce. I sincerely hope the Temple finds a new Voice soon enough... I'd love to see it become more populated, whether or not I'm playing a Cultist. The philosophy is deep, interesting, and challenging, and it remains my favorite cabal experience.
>
> Cyradia: Thank you for giving me a chance. I wish we interacted more, especially after I was named Voice, but it didn't seem like our playing schedules overlapped much. I will send you an email regarding what happened with the lil' task I was given.
>
> Scarabaeus: Though I joined while you were away, your return added a strong dimension to Ingvar that made him a great deal more interesting. Ingvar's personal philosophy was always a blend of the Ruby and Onyx paths, and I appreciated our interactions, in your many guises. "Interact with Scarabaeus and Cyradia" remains the coolest power of the Temple.
>
> Shinkoujinei: You were the only one Ingvar ever called "Teacher". Although IC Ingvar hated your memory after your suicide (indeed, he refused to ever speak your name), I admired your take on the role of the Voice of the Temple, and thoroughly enjoyed all of our many conversations.
>
> Scarab applicants: I was impressed with the caliber of applicants the Temple received. Aside from a few people who clumsily quoted the Sacraa at me without really understanding it, being Voice was a great way to meet a lot of interesting people. I made a number of recommendations to Cyradia/Scarabaeus, but many of you didn't seem to follow through with sufficient heart. I thoroughly enjoyed the (many) hours spent interviewing people. Scyleia, Thalen, Morll, and others: Stick with it. It's worth it.

> Hifflio was one of the very few people Ingvar felt comfortable grouping with. Though our philsophies clashed at times, there was enough common ground for interesting conversation. Without you, I wouldn't have done half of the exploration I did... Ingvar made very little use of allies.
>
> Shenara was always someone Ingvar enjoyed speaking with. I enjoyed learning the many twists and turns you've put into your character, and you and Hifflio were probably the only two Masters Ingvar really liked. (Merisila as well, though we didn't speak as much.)
>
> Zorszaul was probably the closest match Ingvar found to his own view of the world. While I would never say I trusted you, your presence always made things more interesting, and we shared a certain dark sense of humor.
>
> Jeurno remains one of the funniest characters I've met. Consistent, unique roleplaying, and we often saw eye to eye on matters of personal freedom, the pleasures of food and drink. Now, if you would only have stopped the unnannounced gating to me during interviews, battles, and prayer at shrines. =)
>
> Sylvan in general: Ingvar never really understood all the hostility he occasionally got from Warders. He shared their dislike for civilization, and the culture of the masses, and often tried to speak with them when possible. Jheriohn, Kamal, Flontinot, and others connected well with him, though a few others seemed to be of the "Insect Swarm now, ask questions later" school. Pikel, thanks for pretty much single-handedly halting a quest in its tracks. I really hoped that a heroimm could do better than repeatedly calling me "lich-worshipper" and refusing to talk to me. It's not like I didn't put it effort trying to convince you to chat. Ugh.
>
> Dawnies: Solian, Cartharlen, Chaldaie, and Nicolette all had conversations with Ingvar that stuck in my mind, especially Solian. Despite Ingvar's IC condescension and taunting, you made great foils and enemies. Very well played, across the board. Gonna have to try one of those some day.
>
> Maran: Ugh. After Khiravn (who, despite his efforts, made Ingvar's role as the person who truly convinced him to seek the Temple after that whole Storm Giant thing) raised the bar, along came a long string of uninteresting enemies. Svyatopolk was willing to fight, at least, though never in my 500 hours did I see a Maran come to the Temple for a fight after Khiravn died. (Hello? Lich King? Hatred of Morals? Primarily Evil Cabal? Anyone? Anyone?) Belaran stands out as the worst case of fair-weather-logins I ever saw.
>
> Empire: Peroleth remains in my mind as the scariest enemy Ingvar faced. I would come in with aura/stoneskin/shield/fly/haste/ironskin/resist_mental/swiftness/etc/etc/etc and just get tooled. Granted, conjurers were my toughest enemy (bard songs are rather dangerous once they get archons/devils... I was just beginning to find startegies that didn't completely suck towards the end of Ingvar's life.) Aradan was interesting, but the rest seemed cut from identical molds, and kind of boring. Maybe it was because we were always fighting.
>
> Avendella: Everything that I had to say has been said. You remained Ingvar's favorite other person, even though he would never admit it to anyone except Shenara, and barely then.
>
> Troupe: Astillian, Stellyx, Tathlyn, Arvam, and others always impressed me. Across the board, a great group of roleplayers. If it wasn't for having to share the Inn with a bunch of undesirables (Dawnies, etc.), I would have spent a lot of time there, drinking and listening to stories. But Ingvar was never good about looking the other way when Profane came knocking.
>
> I'm sure there are dozens of other people I've forgotten. While Ingvar had no friends, there were a great number of people he enjoyed speaking with. Feel free to email me to talk about Ingvar.
