I believe they were within 9 levels of each other, but due to xp difference not in each other's PK-range. Am I missing something, or this really supposed to work like this? It seems more than a little f*cked up if others can kill your charmies without having to worry about you. (The bug being that since mobs have just a level and zero xp, the code only checks for lvl difference for PK vs. player mobs?)

Yes, That was most likely me. Here's the senario:
Tower was attacked (by nameless, out-of-pk-range Sylvan with beasties. Though I'll agree it does seem a little strange... *shrug*.

You invoke pillars of lightning to strike the area.
A golden eagle yells 'Die, Strelno, you sorcerous dog!'
Your pillar of lightning MANGLES a golden eagle!
The gods protect Sylvan.
Phabien's freezing bite EVISCERATES a golden eagle!
A golden eagle is covered with bleeding wounds.

<*hp *m *mv>
Taraly leaves west.
Taraly has fled!

pray I've got a question of rules. You cannot PK someone
with pets, but can you kill the pets of someone not in
your range? Sylvans raid with treants... Can I kill them
legally?

An Immortal tells you 'If you are able to kill said pets,
then feel free.'
