> Ingvar's philosophy was influenced by a number of past reads, but ideas in Nietzsche's On the Genealogy of Morals more or less made the light turn on in my head. Beowulf was handy for his manner of speaking, and some of his attitude towards being a bard and eventually the Voice. There's probably others that I'm forgetting, but those two definitely were in the front of my mind.
