Most of those questions are answered in the help file. (HELP SYLVAN) As for the spheres....most spheres could work with the sylvan philosophy, I think. Naturally, there are some exceptions. Before choosing a sphere like Order, Honor, Greed, or some such, though, think about it for a second and make sure it makes sense for a Sylvan. I don't think telling you where the cabal is would be quite kosher out of character, but ask a Warder or just about anyone in the game. I'm sure they'll tell you.
