I'm a bit perplexed by what you mean when you say the raven "saw his tracks"? The raven was tanking him, and thus tracking him as any mob would. When you tried to reproduce this, you had your raven attack another PC (or vice versa), then led it into the room with the PC afterwards, without releasing it?

If what happened in that log no longer works, it's because of a side-effect exploit that I pointed out to the imms a while back, that they may have gotten around to fixing (basically, fams being able to track could be used to protect you from jack, sleep, snare, etc. if you're clever).
