You do get unarmed defence which allows you to parry with your hands, and you get backfist, which is very nice, but neither is worth giving up weapons and dual wield. While assassins are usualy thought of as the ninja type, that does not mean they are limited to hth combat only. They use what they have. It's a question for imms, really. Just cause it is based on the Islamic community, does not mean its based on their god. The society and culture is there without their aspect of Alah. So this is more of just a deserty type cultre you might find in some of the AD&D books, with a bit of arabic thrown in. I see no problem with using the CF pantheon. The calls for prayers are general, and can fit most.
