I agree with all of your points, and they are completely valid.. that's why I suggested for him to be a human, at first. I have played many APs in my day, and I've always liked drow's the most.. I don't know why, I've never had a problem staying alive. In fact, the time I start seeing a problem with drow APs is about 35th when you have people in low-mid 40s in your grasp, ready to maul you. That's where the good spellcasting ability comes in... I've found that Drows are pretty damn successful casting their spells, even against someone who is ranks above them, because they are naturally good spellcasters. Maybe that's why I like them so much.. I dunno. But, like I said, sure I've been mauled by mithril weapons, but if you are comfortable enough with scouting and fighting and especially running, drow AP is a good choice. By the 30th-35th rank, it pays off. > 1. Firstly you'll be dead with all the mithril weapons out there. They are easy to get. > 2. Hit points sucks. See above about being dead fast. > 3. Can bash well enough to hold down your opponent. Giants and duergars are better bashers because of strength. > 4. Can't dual wield heavy hitting weapons well. > 5. 500 exp disadvantage is a lot. You need hit points instead to hold your ground against many of higher ranks than you. > Conclusion : you'll be dead fast before you even get to your twentieth rank.
