Cloud makes great Battle Rangers-- hard hits, spellbane against sleep, Double resist makes up for bad defense when using axes.

For a sylvan Felar is definitely the best. Ranger staves heal, and have massive +hit/dam. I played one up to 36 recently. Turned out really well, only i was lazy when it came to practice...
