I used to hold steadfast to the one char at a time rule. The closest to violating it I ever came was to start a new char at the end of an old characters life. Recent postings and a new outlook on the game have lead me to these conclusions. I'll be brief. Run two characters. (time providing) Make them opposite in -attitude- not in alignment. As an example, create a Sylvan-type ruffian... all crass. He's a goodie. Then make yourself an elven trannie, maybe troupe. He's highly civilized and well spoken. With this example your characters can not flood over into one another because they are far too different in RP to combine into a generally average attitude. Secondly, your chars interests do not conflict. You will never get a cabal item, log back on with your other char and retrieve it. This also prevents you from looking at a who PK and saying, "its shitty" then log on with your other char. (provided you keep them my recommended 7-10 ranks apart.) The thing I like the most about this idea is that you have balance... and as you learn more about one extreme of an RP you can move that much further in the other direction. Thus you create two amazingly detailed and well played Therans.
