Good luck. "devil bunny, devil bunny, devil bunnies
First, do a forum search on 'Nepenthe'...if there's someone you want to teach you how to learn to pk, Nep is that guy. Now, to put it into practice...start with a character you feel comfortable with (and a role that allows you to do what you want)...I would advise against Battle or any cabal that adds 'fighting powers' (at least for the begining), if you can stand the bs that goes along with it, an Arbiter warrior is a good choice IMHO. Now, play your character out...watch what people do, both those who lose to you and those who stomp you regularly...learn from them. When you're done with your character, figure out which class/race/cabal combo kicked your arse on a regular basis....you've just found your next character. (This is why it's important to learn from those who beat you down, and those who you beat)...play that character out, rinse, repeat...and eventually (if you're paying attention) you'll start getting noticably better.
Let's see...a few more things, when you die nine times out of ten you did something wrong, never let this slip your mind. Don't beat yourself over it, use it as a learning tool...log your fights, if you won look for the opponents mistakes, if you lost look for yours. Also, one thing to remember...keep in mind half the mud doesn't pk half as well as they think they do...some are just good parrots and one-trick ponies. My final piece of advice on this is to keep in mind that some times fleeing is not only a good strategy, it's the only one that will keep you alive. Oh yeah, make sure while you're doing these learning characters, you keep in mind that we're still looking for roleplay.
