1. It's easy to see your opposing cabal as a "schoolyard bully." Roleplaying is often limited by necessity between opposing cabals. Myself, I tend not to do it just because I'm letting the other guy know that I'm thinking of him (thus making him more aware of my presence). There was a social psychology study done on perceptions and fundamental attribution errors where two opposing ivy league colleges rated a football game between them on fair play and sportmanship. Unsurprisingly, each college found the other to be *exceedingly* obnoxious and unsportsmanlike. HAVE you played a rager, Quintius? Recently? Who? I am guilty of this myself. I wrote a stupid rant on the log board defaming people who play gangbanging evil aligns, basically saying it's the "easy way to play." Someone responded by saying "Why don't you try to play an Imperial Sect Leader before you criticize?" And you know what? I rolled up a necromancer and became Dreadlord after reading that. And I've gained alot more perspective on and appreciation for the complexity of Empire because of it. My advice to you is to do the same: Why don't you and Imbrogno roll up the next Leader and Veteran of battle, and put into action everything you claim battle should be? 2. Why people hate Arbiters. Battle doesn't war with Arbiter because Arbite has mages. Battle wars with Arbiter because they (like most people who aren't playing Arbiters) feel that people who hand out flags like Fuerln and Fuath (who cackled with glee over how he "hosed the Barons with a loophole") are the *rule*, not the exception. Wanted flags mess with a character in ways that a deathblow can not. And when you and your cabal have received enough abusive flags, and Immortal governance is non-forthcoming, you finally have enough and decide you are going to con kill every last Arbiter (delusional dream, but understandable). You might feel the same way, once you've rolled up your Rager Leader. You might feel that Quintius was the exception.
