Consider that it's not a rigid caste system:
Will you get arrogance relating to the game from us? Maybe, but I'm not entirely sure it is. If I put in time helping design some new class or revision, help implement and test it, and then state that I know more than you do when you make an uninformed comment about it, is that arrogance? I think it'd just be truth. You wouldn't expect to be taken seriously if you skimmed a chemistry textbook and tried to argue down a person with a Ph.D. in chemistry, and you wouldn't call them arrogant for telling you that you didn't know what you were talking about. If you feel we're looking down on you in any field but CF I'd call that arrogance, but I don't think you're seeing that or will be seeing that.
Lastly, I also think you're being naive if you really think that all the Imms place the players on the same level as them. Some of the Imms hide it better than others, but the overall average arrogance of the Immortal Staff as a whole is simply staggering.
Virtually any player who puts real effort into roleplaying, is a reasonably competent player (i.e. doesn't get lost walking to their guild and understands the basics), and is willing and capable of devoting the time and effort to perform the duties that go with the job can be an immortal.
