As far as I can recall, Fortcoeur wasn't renowned as a badass, but rather a good all-around leader who inspired other Knights. You just cited two excellent roleplayers (and fairly good PKers) who died a lot. The problem is, both of their cabals called for this. Yours does not. The ideals you speak of that drive you to risk your life are not ones for an Imperial to live by. Not a wise Imperial, anyway.
Challen died over 30 times to PKs, and went through about 18 points of con in his lifetime. Why? Because his role called for him to lay his life down for his beliefs without hesitation. This meant coming to defend against Istendil, Llorenthos, Allerya, and a horde of others. This meant trying to retrieve against similar numbers. And so forth. Obviously, this meant dying. Challen was as much a martyr as he was a fighter at times, and the sight of his corpse at the Gates of the Citadel only served, I would imagine, to highlight the terrible odds he faced and his determination to continue in spite of them.
When someone sees the corpse of the Emperor of Thera, they sneer. Everytime someone sees "Agorinth is DEAD!!" or "The corpse of Agorinth is here." or looks at you and sees you entirely naked, the image of the Empire and of the instutition of Emperor is tarnished. And you seem to be missing this crucial point. The Emperor of Thera does not gain respect by fighting constantly, and winning often but sometimes dying. Speaking as a former sphere Strength War Master, Strength is also about not showing weakness. Not dying should be a prime concern of yours.... Now, being a coward is bad as well, because it's another form of weakness. But risking your life is not worth it. Not ever. You gain little if you succeed, and your image as Emperor suffers greatly if you fail.
If I were an Imperial right now, I'd be hatching a scheme to dethrone you.
Just my take on it. I'm not saying you're bad, just that you're using the wrong role models and going about things incorrectly.

> From your point of view, I may die too much, but its just a result of putting myself in situations where it is not a given that I will win. This has something to do with my characters sphere, Strength. It also has to do with my personal philosophy on the game. Namely, take chances, show some balls, and if you have chance, take it! Rating a char merely by how much they die is very shallow. There have been many very skilled players who died alot, Thror and Fortceour are two that come to mind. I know I am not as good as these two, but death in this game is not how you measure a char.
