The bottom line is, this is plagarism. It's taking the work of somebody else and claiming it as your own. The Imms go to great lengths to make it clear that bard songs are not the product of their own minds, and in the helpfiles say who wrote the songs. I don't see a citation of R.A. Salvatore in Pikel's description.
Personally, I'm not going to quit playing because there's a complete rip-off char playing. But, you for damn sure better recognize that the next time I get busted for some obscure ass name because it happens to mean "smart" in Japanese that I'll be bringing this shit up.
