Just doesn't show me a lot of courage, to be honest. They didn't "need" to attack diarmuid as a group to beat him. To kill him? Sure, they needed at least 2 at the time. But to hand him the defeat, one could have done it while the rest watched.

Not too much. It's the involvement with Mend that gets questionable. If he attacked their giant guardian, make him putty. But if he was just approaching and got munched by that bunch, I'd expect them to give Mend a bit of a lashing for interfering. They can fight their own battles. If they lose, they lose. If they win, all the better for them.
point is.. they can't. Hence they call on
me or other Warders to help. IC I could
care less, I'm always up for a good tussle
