Sure there is a nice loophole for it but just the little things like that and all the cabals being toned down. Just seems to make the mud a little less fun. Just can't put my finger completly on it. > > You could arbitrarily choose a cabal, and still have your powers most of the time. Just run in and grab your item. As a result of this, cabal membership was a little more even. You'd get more diversity in the hero and near hero ranks... and that's where it was most fun to play. Shadow offered more balance than empire, and knights gave lightwalkers a chance. Oh yeah, and the immortals went on a quest to make ranking harder, for some reason. You used to be able to rank A LOT easier. Arial assassins could dodge/parry anything, and most of the ranking areas weren't ruined yet (such as mortorn or tar valon shoppies calling guards). Just a few ideas.... > Well when you watch people power rank from level 1 to hero in less than 70 hours, and your character lives ~400+ hours, what do you expect. As for these places being "ruined" you couldn't be more wrong, they are still areas you can go ranking in, you just have to actually THINK to do so. It shouldn't be a cakewalk to get to hero or else you'd start off at level 51 with a full set of limited gear. I couldn't agree more, let's expand every tedious aspect of the mud.... And no shit, you can still rank in these places... but it is more difficult and takes specific types of groups.
