My basic concept of Paladins is that they are honorable warriors of the light.. so perhaps giving them an option at level 1 (or 20, whatever) to *FOCUS* on a certain part to become a certain type of paladin, to support the roleplaying that I've seen of various paladins. First option being: Defender - This paladin focuses on the healing, defending and curing of the populous. They are the shields of the weak and seek to do what they can to ease the suffering that is being caused by the darkness in the world. Skills like the old 'counter' or knight's 'guard' come to mind.. healing supplications, etc. Crusader - This paladin focuses more on what Rome was talking about.. the swords of the weak. The strong voice of their holy god that seeks the destruction of darkness. Stuff like that. Iomahk
> Paladins should be focused almost entirely fighting evil. Currently they seem to be a hodge podge of all types of skills that don’t really focus entirely on what they are supposed to be doing. Supps such as flamestrike, call lightning, and creating food and water. Further, I think the skills of the paladin should focus more on using big swords and sometimes shields, no more of this charge crap, or pugil.. take away dual wield too, they aren’t
> Swordsmen, they’re paladins. If they want to use a big ass two handed sword, let ‘em, or they can use a shield
> But two swords is for the sword specs. Finally, summoning doesn’t sound like a paladin thing to do, it’s more underhanded and sneaky, so I tossed that one out too.
These travel the land looking to spill blood in the name of their Holy Crusade.
By splitting them up, perhaps there will be less of the confusion related to paladins.
