Paladins should be focused almost entirely fighting evil. Currently they seem to be a hodge podge of all types of skills that don’t really focus entirely on what they are supposed to be doing. Supps such as flamestrike, call lightning, and creating food and water. Further, I think the skills of the paladin should focus more on using big swords and sometimes shields, no more of this charge crap, or pugil.. take away dual wield too, they aren’t In summary, paladins lose: The new role of the paladin will be less about caring for others, that’s the healer’s job after all, and more of a true warrior of the light. The hero’s of legends who descend into the depths of hell and slay demons. Skills that are added have an asterisk next to them, and are described bellow. Skill of Paladin: Mace, Level 1. Fury: Fury is a spinning attack the paladin can make using his spiritual energy to fortify his actions. It will strike all foes attacking the paladin, save the one the paladin is focusing on, with a powerful strike, stunning them slightly and doing a good deal of damage. Inspiration: This skill is automatic and is activated each time the paladin engages an evil foe of greater power than himself. Each time combat initiates and this skill is successfully checked, the paladin finds himself with a little bit more energy (moves and mana), and an increase in his fighting abilities (+hit/dam) for a short while. The fighting ability improvement only lasts a very short time (1 hr), but is cumulative so if the paladin engages one powerful evil foe he may get +2/+2 for one hour, but if he engages two, he’ll get +4/+4 for 2 hrs.. and so on. All player characters count as powerful foes, and mobs over 2 ranks higher do also. Obviously this could be tricky to code since as is people would simply flee and return over and over until they are uber-paladins. Tweaking comments are welcome. Zeal: This supplication fills the paladin with incredible energy, allowing him to retain his focus even when physical and magical attacks are trying to cause him to lose it. In this state the paladin may not sleep or be forced to sleep and he also finds that his steps are light (low move loss). It has a short duration. Cloak of faith: This supplication creates a magic cloak that the paladin may wear about his body. The cloak will look something like, ‘A pure white cloak embossed with symbols of victory.’. Where victory would be replaced by whatever sphere the paladin followed. Each sphere would lend a different power to the cloak, but most would either be heal’s, wraths, cleanse, or dispel evil. Also the cloak would be decent armor. Holy Light: This is an area dispel evil spell. It only works against evil critters and packs only slightly more power than wrath. It tends to blind or stun those who are struck by it. ...Rome...
Swordsmen, they’re paladins. If they want to use a big ass two handed sword, let ‘em, or they can use a shield
But two swords is for the sword specs. Finally, summoning doesn’t sound like a paladin thing to do, it’s more underhanded and sneaky, so I tossed that one out too.
Polearm, charge, pugil, dual wield, flamestrike, call lightning, create food, create water, and summon.

Divine Intervention: This skill is checked each hour whenever the paladin finds himself taking damage from some maledictions, hunger, or thirst. When this skill works the paladin will find that his diety aids him by removing the problem. If he is hungry, food may appear at his feet, if he is thirsty, a well may spring up, bleeding wounds may close, and if he is poisoned he may be cured. That sort of thing. Divine Intervention is an automatic skill, but will always fail if the paladin is cursed, damned, or worldbound.
