: If you don't agree with a certain law, or No, it's not. I see way too many people do this, and it's bullshit. "I believe in the law, but I will not let it stand in the way of these other beliefs" is a NEUTRAL ETHOS statement. Paladins are lawful by definition, and if you play a paladin who attacks in town, you're fucking up. I can think of some very subtle ways in which lawful could not be mangled by such actions, but none of the paladins who attack in town are operating on this level, I assure you. If you don't want city laws to stand in the way of your Shokite, play a NG or CG shaman/warrior/whatever. "I will not do violence to him within the city walls" is something that I'd hear over Knight cabal channel from the paladins whom I respected the most, and who were some of the best examples of what paladins should be like... Aguveroq, though next to no one knows him, and Umoens (well, while he was Blooded at least... he became a bit of an eq-hogging wallflower thereafter *poke Umoens*). Paladins don't despise evil any less because they follow the laws, they just recognize that their personal crusades are rendered meaningless if they destroy an orderly society in the process, something necessary for true enlightened prosperity.
: are a paladin and feel that evil people are
: not considered in the laws, that's certainly
: acceptable.
