I should point out that among the cabals I've lead/inducted for/whatever, includes a stint as a Sect Leader in Empire.. so I do speak from firsthand experience. My primary problem with Empire is that Roleplaying, real Roleplaying, is not required, unless the Sect Leader/Emperor decides so on a whim. Given the pressure to induct that at least I felt from the Empire Imms, not to mention the general desire to keep your cabal strong, I don't believe that they can be relied on to make their potential inductees interview simply of their own good judgement. Yes, I agree that there are idiots in every cabal, nothing we do will eliminate every idiot. However, the standards of roleplaying for which one must pass to enter the non-Empire cabals is far greater than that for Empire, on the average (as stated, some leaders are easier or harder than normal to be inducted under regardless of cabal.
I merely see Empire as not doing nearly enough to encourage roleplaying either in induction requirements, or in active day to day life in the cabal, for the average member.

You do have a point when you suggest that one must ignore the idiots, and concentrate on the good interactions.. but I really don't see anything Empire at present contributes that another Evil cabal (Shadow, Scarab) couldn't do better at.

> I agree with a good portion of what you said, but your focus on the Empire is ill advised. Every cabal has idiots in it, that's just the way it is. There are ragers with zero roleplay, Barons who think attacking in town is enough to make them "zany", and even some moronic Warders with zero roleplay. The thing that makes the cabals interesting, even Empire, is that there are almost always a few excellent roleplayers. Empire tends to have more idiot, but that's a result of greater numbers, and mass inductions. Is it so difficult to ignore the fools and concentrate on those that make player interaction worthwhile?
