Let me see if I understood you.
I get in the realms, spend 1 RL hour preparing myself so I can stand up against the ragers that doesn't need any preparation? (I'm counting here both have a pretty set of eq to start with and their cabal items)
Second, I did the stupidity of going after a rager without transform, just to see how much toughter they are now compared when I faced them some months ago with an uncaballed trannie. The basic idea was hit "murder someone" and keep my finger on "c word", just to see a bit of fight. I didn't see much, as a matter of fact, only one round. Yeah, by the end of the first round I was dead, I had -200 or something on ac, wielding a staff and 623hp. Sure I asked to die, that's not the point. But what about the uncaballed mages? Not a chance to cast word of recall or flee sounds too much in my point of view, in that case, not even if it was on trigger.
I have faced ragers before with my uncaballed trannie, as I said, and never got a kill, and they only killed me once. Now, I fully assume they are wearing shit and not prepared, and even so beat me for one reason only, I asked a friend warrior for a duel, his eq was REALLY good, and he put me to run (arial sword-spec, hate ripost :P), hey, guess what, he's uncaballed!!! Yeah, only with warcry and berserk. Now I ask you again, given the ragers powers, is this fair to the uncaballed? Want to even the powers? Great, diminish transform. But accept that there are few ragers that really know what they are doing, and giving powers to even the others lack of skill and preparation is not the way out.
Yeah, I fought all three types, scouts, defenders and berserkers, scouts and defenders put up a good fight for a trannie, berserker is the bad guy.
Last rant, haste?!? Now I got pissed, if you want invokers shields without an invoker you need to fullfill a damn quest, but if you want stone skin or haste, it's given away. :-(
Other ideas:
1- Instead of all you have done, if spellbane did set the room to no-recall/no-summon/no-nightgaunt for the duration of spellbane, it would be fun, or
2- By using any rager power they can't flee. Courage...
