Knights were primarly about honor, yeah I know they dwindled into evil-stomping honorables, and not so honorable lightwalkers. BUT! that had absolutly nothing to do with how they were inteded to be.

Dawn is a cabal that is there to promote, what because part of the Knights, the whole 'protection of the innocents'. When Knights did it the world was different. Now Dawn does it...same job, different reasons and rationales. Knights did it to be champions of the innocent, and to protect the light from evil (yadayadayada). Dawn does it to protect the innocents, sure, but also to spread faith in the Light. Faith, hope, protection...as opposed to honor, duty, protection. So as for you not playing a dawn because they're watered down versions of knights...I'd say, try again.
