I wouldn't call that a point proved There are several ways to go against a berserker as an invoker. True, the options are limited because of the new powers, but they still exist. You "can" do it solo, but you can't expect to waltz into the rager cabal and dominate as when the new invoker spells came in. Several suggestions have yet been made, some of which have nothing to do with depending on outside help. I personally see no reason why you "shouldn't" get outside help, especially if you're the Master who is going to sting someone for their offenses against the tower. But, for those that like the one-on-one route, it's a hell of a lot harder to go toe-to-toe with the ragers. Again, I have little problem with this, as long they stay honest and true to the cabal's goals. As has been said before, the majority of complaints arise out of situations where the whole picture isn't seen. I don't expect this to be easy to stomach, but more often than not, it's true. The last thing immortals want to do is create imbalance, and they're around more than often enough to recognize it. They'll change things when they can, if they figure it's needed. If that isn't good enough, there's not a whole lot of choices. There are so many things to consider when you look at head-to-head matchups: terrain, knowledge, skill, preparation, link, and -then- you get to the actual fight. Some classes (or cabals) are vastly more powerful in certain areas and/or under certain conditions. I don't expect a normal sword-toting warrior to beat me up as a hero invoker, but I can't throw caution to the wind when I fight a warrior who's pissed because parents killed his magi... er.. you know. > All of your suggestions came down to this: getting outside help to fight the rager. Getting a conjurer to help. Getting charmies. Etc. Not "all". > What that means is that the powers of the invoker class are not enough to fight. And that's exactly what I've been saying. > Charmies are necro powers and conjurer powers. It is not part of the invoker class. Sure, anyone can go get a mob charmie, but if you are saying that you have to rely on that, rather than all the powers, skills, spells, of a class, then you are saying that that class is not able to deal with something on its own. > And that is what is wrong and shows a lack of balance. I hear echoes of "Agorinth vs fiend", "Early nightgaunt vs nearly anybody", etc. And I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed. > Q.E.D.
(To expect perfect balance is to walk in disappointment)
