> They're scary, and fun to play. It's fun as all hell to spell someone up and know they're going to die. But they're awfully squishy, like pasty white little worms when you're hunting them, and they're hard as hell to rank.

> Personally, I have *huge* respect for anyone who's ranked a necromancer to 47 without cheating/multicharing with buddies. I spent hours and hours perfecting spells, but the sheer mind numbingness of finding groups and having so little to contribute to ranking -- it's not fun. Dunno. I'd hate to be slept by a necro, but then, I'd hate to be a necro I was hunting and got the jump on, too.

The trick is to power level til you get to 36th level, then they aren't so bad, I was an arial necro in masters so I couldn't be tripped, and after 36th level, I couldn't be bashed. I had autoassist off at all times so my army could rescue me out of combat and then pwk time. Finding groups can be difficult until you get to about 40th level, but then with your wraithform and vampiric touch, you can tank elite storm giants. Also, at that level, all the evils will be looking for someone who can summon elite storm giants for them which means necro or shaman.
