Well, if that's all they say, I personally believe that when someone takes the time to insult you with thought, if my momma's watching, she's going to kill me...and you respond with "fuck you" or "shut up" that merely proves the point. A good retort in medieval times was a good thing to be adept at, turning it back against them, with just as much, or more bite.
