We've all seen it on other muds, the way to keep level 11 warriors from having a 25/35 hit/dam, it's called item levels. All of the items have levels, let's say that you can't pick up, or even sac an item 20+ levels above you. How might that work?
Yes, yes, I know that 50+ level items crumble if you aren't 21st, but there is a bunch of nasty 40's eq that really makes life easy. Yes, like most people I practice my skills until around 12th level, then look for a good loot. Why? Because it's there. Most of the time I spend 3-5 hours getting the gear I want, and it doesn't change, unless I die.
I admit I play mainly warriors/thieves, but to keep the same eq from 14-40 because you can't get better from the people you kill or even hope to get from a mob, is well, unbalancing. There I said that most often used word here on CF, unbalancing.
Recap? Players more than 20 levels below an item should not be worhty to touch it, just like an elf on iron. But that's my two cents.
