Ie. weak and few physical attacks, but nifty spells. This way the mages of thera might be able to hold their own in the ultimate ranking party of invoker/transmuter/necromancer *grin*.

As a Conjurer I ranked from level 15 to level
40 by myself with I believe 4-5 exceptions.
(i.e. 4 levels I gained with others.) I
even pulled myself out of a 30k hole around
level 35 by myself.

Admittedly I went from 15-20 back when familiars
were broken and they were doing MANGLES and
MASSACRES 3 times a round, so maybe that's
not possible right now, but you don't
have to worry as much about ragers at that level
anyway. (God bless invisibility against rager
wanna be's.)

Anyway, except maybe for transmuters I think
anyone can rank themselves, you just have to
be patient and accept you may only get 50-150
a mob by yourself.

Oh, and the ultimate ranking party is
transmuter/invoker/conjurer. You wanna see
what a hasted, shielded Lesser Archangel
can do for ranking? :-)
