In Reply to: Ok, but umm...you can't burn corpses, dump them in rivers, or make a steak(unless you're a ranger). You can take any idea and use this kind of logic to shoot it all to hell. nt posted by Ponderer(VIP) on November 19, 1999 at 14:15:41:
By the way, thanks for the deep and well thought-out reply. My point was that things in CF all have balancing factors. Examining a corpse wouldn't "just" narrow the suspects down. In the hands of a half-way intelligent Arbiter, it would give him nearly 90% certainty. While you can claim that an Arbiter is like a policeman, needing evidence, well... that policeman isn't limited to 3-4 suspects, all with finite weapon/tactic possibilities. EVERYONE can use a gun. Not everyone in CF can use a mace, or dagger, or throw fireballs, or ad nauseum. It's too powerful a tool to have without adding in a balancing factor. However, I do really like Waigerits' idea of the corpse slowly decaying over time. I would suggest adding in that the _faster_ the damage is done, the less chance of it being recognizable. A "nova" would do more than simply burn the skin of the person like a fireball. Palan's axe would leave HUGE gaping wounds, as opposed to that other guy wielding a practice axe.
