I'd like to see a way to recover con though player killing. I think this ability is only needed for the warrior classes, and I suggest this because I counted up con deaths and old age deaths Those are for ranks 40 and above, roughly for the last 10 months. Cethern had a 25 con when he became a hero (with the help of some I'm curious what others think of this. Mages can make their case for
Some might say we have enough of that already, but I think
it could be easily set up so that it would not lead to more
senseless killing. First, the kill only counts if you get
the last blow on the victim. Perhaps even if it was a fair
fight, one versus one, with or without pets. The kill would
not count if the person just unghosted. Aside from the fair
odds part, I believe this is all coded for rager trophies of
players. Somewhere along the lines of 6 or 9 kills gives back
1 con point. If you rolled a 20 con, then there is no way
pk'ing could raise it above 20. You've still got to train it.
If you lose 2 con to old age, then you could only get your con
to 18 this way. The ratio of kills to deaths could be adjusted
if this makes it too easy to live until old age. Right now
that seldom if ever happens, especially for warrior classes.
perhaps anti-paladins and paladins. The ratio of kills to deaths
could be different for each class, based on their ability to
escape attack. Liches should not have this ability. This ability
to regain constitution could only apply at certain levels. Maybe
at low levels for mages/clerics, and then only at high levels for
warriors, with mages/clerics getting a reduced effect by then.
of warrior classes versus mage/cleric ones, and found that
11 cast/commune types versus 2 warrior types died of old age.
15 cast/commune types versus 40 warrior types died of con loss.
The two warriors who made it to old age were Ahmie and Kaerk, a
thief and a ranger, if I'm not mistaken. Both were ragers, which
shocks me, I'd have thought warriors with potions would fare much
better. I don't know the ratio of people playing each category,
but I would guess it is close to even, with a few more of the warrior
types, but not enough to balance those numbers up there.
training along the way.) I lost one con to old age and the rest
were deaths. Many of these deaths came trying to recover the head
against bad odds, or defending against a raid with quicksand right
outside the village. I certainly could have avoided some of them,
but it's not the way villagers should be played. I still almost made
it to age death I believe, I was 325 years old, 416 hours. I do not
know how hard con quests are to get, but I think what I've suggested is
a reasonable way to extend the lives of useful warrior/thief/assassin
types. It could be a skill you cannot practice, and could be taken
away from specific people who abused it.
deserving it as well. Conjurers seem to need it the most, but I think
the deaths they suffer to their own pets will go way down once we all
learn how they work better.
