Nearly all of the classes have all of their skills by 40th rank. At that time druids had bearform which they got at 45, aps got worldbind at 42, invokers got some nice things above 40, but aside from that there are very few classes that got anything of use over 40th rank. Why then is it such a big deal that a good many of Matraein's kills came between the ranks of 38 and 42? I feared Matraien much more than I feared Ilhrath, MUCH MORE. He was also a somewhat scarier than Istendil because at least with Istendil you had the chance of seeing him coming. I don't know, just seems to me that you're not giving credit where credit is due.
