What you said violates rule number 2, that ooc knowlege/abilities/etc is not allowed to affect gameplay. I abhor those that use icq/irc to see who is around and create little groups who log on together and do everything together. Same goes for same site people who coordinate and play only together and work with an efficiency that could not be managed IC. And what you say is true, in that people seem less tolerant of dying, or losing a battle. However, I disagree that this accurately represents what many in the threads below are saying. They are saying that too many people are gangbanging in general. Yes, I despise those that log on only when they have cabalmates there. Yes, I would root them out and deny them. But, that does not mean that those that *are* there and those that simply log on like normal and want to gangbang, should not. Yell, kick and scream at those that "scout" and only come on with a character who will enjoy the benefits of all his allies being there at the same time. That is a rules violation. But do not say that all, or even most gangbanging comes from that. Most gangbanging comes from the simple fact that people like to win, and winning is far more certain when you have the numbers. To those that speak only about the ragers, and that particular cabal gangbanging, I realize they operate under a different set of circumstances. The role of a rager is something each player chooses to adopt or not. You dont have to be a battlerager. However, once you decide to become a rager, you *still* have choices. You can be a pure solo killer, or not. Just because some choose not to, is neither right nor wrong. It is their choice. I think it is important to remember that "the good old days" (and yes, I enjoyed some of the things back then better than now as well) were not the same in every respect except gangbanging. It is unfair and inappropriate to compare those times with these times, without taking into consideration all of the other, ancillary changes that have occurred in virtually every aspect of the game. It is good to have a stable *framework*. But within that framework, change is necessary. Without change, there is no growth. Without growth there is no excitement and fun. (And hate leads to suffering.... :P)
