Except for the usual blathering of Graham and such, and there about Ragers in particular, no one's saying to ban gangbanging.

It's most definitely a part of the game, and if you choose to play an Honorable character, that should mean something.

What I and other find distasteful is the purely OOC "mob" dynamic regarding cabal membership and playing times. It is perfectly IC to say "I'm going to hide in my super secret spot and practice until the odds are in my favor." It's *NOT* IC to say "I'm not going to log on unless the odds are in my favor." or "I'm not going to play unless is dominant." People have forgotten how to roll with the punches, and cower from the prospect of a war/fight that's not a sure thing, and seem to think that dying a few times means it's the end of the world. The pendulum swings back and forth, yes, but the only truly interesting times are when it's perfectly vertical. Problem is, that usually lasts a whole two or three days. Instead of balance being the common situation and extremes happening rarely, extremes are the norm and balance only comes as a transitional phase. And that, my friend, I blame on the OOC mentality of the playerbase. It has nothing to do with roleplaying concerns.
